Due to recent hail storms in the area last week,
there are no more blackberries available to pick.
We are still open for pick your own vegetables.

The Lay Berry Farm is a family owned and operated blackberry and produce farm located near Phalba, Tx. in Van Zandt county.  We first opened to the public on May 30th of 2008.  Originally offering Ouachita and Apache blackberries, we broadened our horizons and started offering produce as well.  We realize that there is a demand for fresh produce that doesn't contain chemicals or additives that can be found in most of the produce available in grocery stores.  Also, everything we offer for sale is fresh picked and hasn't been on the shelf for days.  We strive to keep our planting and farming methods are kept as close to 100% natural as we can. Since then it has been our goal to provide the best produce in the area.

The blueberries were our next stage of expansion.  We have had many people ask about them the previous season so we decided that it would be prudent to meet the consumer demand for them.  We started small and are going to be planting more at the end towards the end of summer.

There are many people to thank for their hard work that have helped make this farm grow.  Many people have donated their time and skills and if it weren't for the effort of everyone as a whole we wouldn't be where we are now.  We especially would like to thank our neighbors around the farm for their support and all of the assistance that they have given over the past year.  Your help and support has been invaluable to us and we are truly grateful and we can not thank you enough.  We would also like to thank the local community members for your repeat business and word of mouth advertising.  We are honored to be able to provide you with what we have to offer.
